Pretty little maidens

Take a look at what just rolled into the clearance room here at the Burg. These cuties are currently selling for $497 each; the fabric on them is gorgeous. There aren't too man in stock, so snap them up while they last.
If you're reading this, odds are high that I can get you ther best deal of the year to date on the Pre-Thanksgiving sale. E-mail me if you didn't get a letter in the mail from me. I'll do my best to take care of you.

Columbus Day Sale

It's not getting a lot of advertisement right now, but I've got a Columbus Day sale running right now that permits me to cut some very good deals. I have to ask permission, and I can only make the offer to a few people, but it's potentially possible that I can get free delivery for you on a sofa in addition to a healthy discount. It depends on the piece and how good I am at grovelling, so call me ASAP. This offer is only good for TODAY, Friday - so e-mail or call pronto!

Sectional in Scarlet

Need something to furnish the conversation pit? This secional has 6 seat, reclines on both ends, and even has a queen sized sleeper hiding in it for the really wild parties. It's only $1997 - a real steal. Come check it out in our clearance room - last one in the company.
I'm hearing rumors of a leather sofa for only $1000 showing up on the showroom floor at some point, but that's an absurdly low price for a genuine La-Z-Boy. I'll keep you posted.

Vroom, vroom.

Wow. Well, that black leather chair went really fast - the day after I posted it, in fact. And I'm hearing rumors that we'll be getting more deals like that in the near future. In the meantime, check out this gem. Black leather all the way around - no "leather match" (aka mostly vinyl)
chairs here. Soft, comfortable, beautiful. Doesn't recline... but it's only $297. That's absurdly inexpensive for a leather chair like this. First come, first served, last one.

Vroom.

Beautiful jet-black full top grain leather recliner here in perfect shape. The gallery owner slashed the price on it to $597. Consider it your very own stationary Harley. First come, first served, last one.

Oh, this is pretty...

This beautiful Mackenzie sofa just showed up in my clearance center; rumor has it that it came from a distribution center in Philadelphia that ran out of space. I looked it over and it's in perfect shape. It's selling for only $697. I sell the same piece in a perfectly-fine-but-much-less-interesting fabric for over $1000. There's only one. Someone please buy this piece; it's far too pretty to sit back here for long.

Ad in the Plain Dealer...

...there's a very, very good coupon in the Plain Dealer today. Bring it in this weekend and ask for me. You'll be happy, trust me.

Sofa Spectacular!

'Spectacular' seems a bit hyperbolic to me, but I suppose that it would be hard to advertise 'The Really Comfy and Reliable Sofa Sale', so I guess we'll just have to roll with the alliteration.

There are some really good deals available to us this time, though. You have to look a bit to find the best ones. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know my rule of thumb - a savings of more than 10% is a Really Good Deal.

The Pinnacle chair - easily my most comfortable and accessible chair - is on sale right now for $399 in fabric. That's $100 off the usual price of $499 - definitely a Really Good Deal.

Another Really Good Deal is the Demi sofa - a really pretty conteporary sofa with just enough of a scrolled back to make it work in a traditional setting. Another $100 off the normal $699 price; also an excellent deal.

I've got those prices available until Monday 8/24. I'm pretty certain I can sell the Pinnacle at that price for a good while, but supplies of the Demi are more iffy. Give me a call here at the store if you want to grab these sales now, and I can help you get the Really Comfy and Reliable furniture you deserve.

Aiee! Run for the hills!

It's heeere...

The Crandall reclining sofa is on the sales floor here in Middleburg heights. In fabric, it retails for $1399. This weekend only (8-08/8-11), if you buy this piece and pay in full I can deliver it for free.

No way around it -this thing is huge. It's in a green fabric here on the floor, and I'm trying desperately to avoid comparisons to Godzilla. 91 inches long, a really high back, very deep, and generally just impressive as all heck. Each reclining piece has a footrest extension as well, just like a regular Crandall chair. It's an amazing piece; come on in and see me this weekend to take a look at it.

Private Sale!

I have a private sale going on this weekend; odds are very high that you've recieved a letter inviting you to come in this weekend. The sale, as usual, is a touch complex, so I thought I' go over everything we're offering.

We'll pay yor sales tax on most purchases - in Cuyahoga County, that means 7 3/4%. In other words, on a $499 Pinnacle chair, we'd discount the price by $38. You'll still end up paying sales tax - the government is a bit touchy about that sort of thing. But the actual sales tax you'll end up paying will be a good deal less.

I'll also save you an extra 5% off the list price if you pay in full (i.e., it's not financed). That maxes your discount 12 3/4%, which is quite good - if you've read this blog before, you know that anything over 10% is worth paying attention to. The $499 Pinnacle gets a $64 discount at that point, which is definitely a good thing.

If you do choose to finance, we can give you 18 months interest free financing. The most we usually go to is 12 months, so this is also unusual enough to look at.

And just to top it all off, delivery's half price this weekend. Delivering that Pinnacle costs $35, not $69.95, weekend.

Again, this is a private sale - I need to make sure you've got the invitation. If you didn't get one, and you want to take advantage of this opportunity, e-mail me pronto. I'll do everything I can to take care of you.

See you this weekend!

It's here...

I just got word that in mid-August, we'll be recieving the brand new La-Z-Boy Chill recliner here at the store.

It's a two motor massage chair, avaliable both as a recliner and - interestingly enough - a wall-saver version. We're selling it in a fabric that looks all for the world like leather.

And most impressive of all... concealed in the arm rest, there's a cooler. Judging just from the photo I've got, you could probably fit 4-6 cans of your favorite beverage in there.

Be amazed, be appalled, but here it is - the ultimate man-cave recliner is back in town, baby. And the price is really cool - $799.95. That's really great just for a massage recliner, period, let along the built-in cooler!

Photos to come... I can't wait to see this one on the floor.

Dog Days of Summer...

It's been a while since I've updated this blog, just becuase it's a fairly slow time of year for us at La-Z-Boy. Traditionally, this is the slow time in furniture sales. For some strange reason, people seem to prefer staying outside in gorgeous weather like this rather than coming into a furniture store. Go figure.

Despite the quiet, there are some nice little deals lurking around in the store. I have a beautiful red leather sofa an chair in the clearance section for $2000 - that includes our 5 year full replacement warrantee on the leather for free, so it's a real steal. In general, the clearance center has some really nice pieces in it right now, so it's worth checking out. You've probably seen the ads in the Plain Dealer by now for the sale we're running until the end of the month; a lot of the pieces in that ad ar available in very specific colors or fabrics, so please come in and take a look at what we've got before you get excited about one specific deal.

One of the first in-homes I've had the pleasure to sell is delivering this weekend. If I can get permission, I'll try to get some pictures posted of the end results. I've talked a lot about what a great job Jessica does here at the store. It'd be great to be able to show off her work in the flesh, as it were.

In the meantime... swing on by if you want to escape the perfect weather, clear blue skies, and gentle breezes. We've got air conditioning and a comfy chair waiting for you.

Private Sale!

It's been going strong out here at Middleburg Heights; we've got another private sale rolling around next week. It's one of my best opportunities to get you the best possible discount. Here's how it'll work.

Contact me here at the store - call, stop by, send an e-mail, whatever works best for you. Make an appointment with me on Thursday, June 25. I've got three slots available to me.

If you're my appointment, I can give you 7% off of anything you buy. For example, if you buy a Pinnacle chair from me at $499, you'd save roughly $35. However, if you spend $1000 or more, the discount jumps to 11%. A Marcus sofa would be $110 off at that rate. And if you spend $2000 or more, the discount goes to 15% - the best discount I ever see at the store. A leather Carmen sofa which sells at $2099 would be $315 off at that rate!

Contact me if you'd like a private sale slot. I get this sort of opportunity roughly once a month, and only for three clients. If you've decided that now is the time to buy, you won't see a better price until late July.

I'm hearing some rumblings about big changes coming to the Middleburg Heights store; I can't confirm or deny anything yet, but things could get extremely exciting here soon. Watch this space for more information; I promise you'll be the second to know.

Weekend Sale

We've got a weekend sale runing right now - the prices for custom orders keep getting better, which pleases me to no end. There's a neat little tool on the La-Z-Boy website that I'd heartily recommend to you if you want to create the ideal couch for your living room. Pick a chair type and click the "Customize Product" button. All of the compatible fabrics will pop up as choices; click on one, and you can see what the chair would look like without even coming into the store. I'd strongly recommend visiting us to examine the fabric before settling on a custom piece - the feel of the fabric is important as the look. But this is a great way to narrow down your choices to three or four options before coming to visit - we've got over 800 designer fabrics, so winnowing down the field is a good idea.

Huh. Come to think of it, I can use this tool myself right now. We're putting a bunch of chairs on sale, but they're all different models in differnet fabrics, scattered around the warehouse and the store. I've got a Flanagan chair on sale in a nice brown fabric for $597. There's only one left.... and I just posted the picture right here. Not bad at all! Looking for something in particular? Come see me. I've got some nice possibilities. Not every fabric is as straightforward as this one, mind you - I've got this same chair in a bright orange paisley on the floor. It's pretty startling, to put it mildly (and also on sale, I might add). But it just goes to show you, we can build your perfect chair - no matter what your idea of "perfect" might be.

Thank you!

I'm writing this on my day off, but I thought it deserved a quick mention.

The Middleburg Heights store had a tremendous Memorial Day turnout. It was extremely encouraging to see so many people come and ask us to help furnish their homes on a holiday weekend. What absolutely thrilled me was that so many customers who I'd spoken to before came back this weekend to make that purchase we had discussed a week ago, or a month ago, or even two months ago. It made what was already a very good weekend a superb weekend for me - not just in terms of dollars, but in terms of validating my work here at the store. I can't begin to tell you how good it makes me feel, to see a familiar face come back and say: "Yes. It's time. Let's do it."

Thank you for coming in. I know I say it to practically every customer when I say goodbye, but I mean it from the bottom of my heart - thank you very, very much for visiting this weekend. It made Memorial Day a terrific holiday for me.

I'd like to ask two things of you, if I could. First, if you ordered a custom purchase from me this weekend, drop me a line when it comes in - or better yet, e-mail me a picture. I'll be honest, I'm dying of curiosity to see how they turn out.

Second, if you still need something to finish that room after you got your furniture, drop me a line. A little end table to go by a chair, an extra floor lamp - I've probably got something in the store to help finish the look. If you let me know that you're interested, I have a trick or two left that can make the purchase easier - but I need to hear from you.

Again, my deepest thanks. Enjoy the four-day week, and come by and see me again when you've got time. I'd appreciate it.

Memorial Day!

The ads are going full-bore right now; I've got the best deals of the season available to me this weekend. If you call or e-mail me, I can hook you up with 15% off on a couch or vignette... but I need to you contact me and make an appointment for Monday.

Here's how it works: If you make an appointment with me for Monday morning, and you buy $2,200 worth of furniture, I'll be able to take 15% off of the price. I never go below 10% except under rare circumstances... like this one. A reclining couch pretty much comes within range for the 15% discount (or it's so close that we can pretty much give you an end table for free). Even if you only want a loveseat, or a recliner, I've got some steep discounts available.

I can only sign up three people for the discount. My managers have asked me to call my client list to offer the sale to people who needed an extra nudge to buy; I'll be doing that this afternoon, but I wanted to make the offer to you first. E-mail me or call me. If you can't make it on Monday, let me know and I'll see what I can do. I honestly don't have a discount the deep available to me most of the time, so if you've been waiting, now's the time to make a big purchase.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Shh! Top Secret!

I sneaked a look at our catalog of new merchandise today. There's a lot of cool looking chair styles coming, and some really amazing new pieces. I snapped a photo of this pretty thing out of the catalog while no one was looking. I've had a couple of requests for a sofa with a chaise for clients; this looks like a really great solution to the problem. I can start selling this right now, so ask me if you're interested. (And yes, we can do it with the chaise on the other end, too.)

There's also one piece that I still have to see to believe... we're offering one of our biggest chairs, the Crandall, as a sofa. I can't even begin to imagine how big this sofa is going to be. If they did it in leather, I think it might take two whole cows to cover the thing. The heck with decorating the rec room, this big comfy monster is going to be your rec room. I can't wait to see it on the show room floor - assuming we can fit it in here.

Also, I got some great news on fabrics - our options for customizing have opened up tremendously. I can get any of the motion sofas in just about any fabric you could want for just $100 over the price on the floor; one of my chairs is so customizable it's crazy. The Harbor Town can be ordered in over 200 fabrics and in 12 different leathers for the same price as I've got it on the floor. That is, in a word, nuts.

We can really produce something beautiful for you; e-mail me to set up an appointment. My designer's going to get a lot more working helping you pick out the perfect fabric, by it will definitely be worth it.

It's Madness! Madness, I tell you!

It's heeere...

This is, beyond all shadow of a doubt, the wildest and craziest sale here at La-Z-Boy this weekend. Not only will you get some fantastic savings, you'll also get the additional entertainment value of watching the sales staff acting like utter and complete goofballs in order to earn your business.

Before I start hyperventilating and thowing out every cheezy sales-guy cliche to earn a laugh, let me explain how the sale works in a calm, rational voice.

We've got everything - absolutely, positively, bar-the-door Katie everything - marked down in the store. Some of the deals are stupid-good; the Demi sofa, a cute little modern sofa I've sold a lot, is $597 - roughly $100 off its usual price.

If you buy from us this weekend in cash - "cash" meaning money, check, or credit card these days - we'll knock 5% off the marked price. That doesn't apply to everything; that Demi, for example, is as low as it can go. But just about everything else is good for that price.

If you want to finance, we can offer you one full year, equal payments, no interest.

If you recieved some advertising for this sale in the mail, please bring it in; I'd love to see it.

Come on in and see this weekend; it's going to be a riot. Were' closing early on Thursday and opening late on Friday to get ready, so plan accorindgly. Hope to see you there.

Charity Updates

Rather than just list all of the charities our store supports, I've added a collection of links to their websites on the right hand side of the blog. Please, feel free to take a look at their work and do all that you can to support them.

While we're offering a great sale in conjunction with these charities until Easter, please remember that you can donate your used furniture any time that you'd like. We're just making a point of saying "thank you" this Easter Week by giving you a generous discount for your donation. Thanks.

There are a lot of exciting things coming up later in the month here in La-Z-Boy; I can't talk about them yet, but watch this space for further details!

Trade-In Days

Hey, folks. You've probably heard the ads for our trade-in days sales this week on the radio by now. Some of our clients said they were a bit confusing. Let me explain how the sales works a bit further.

If you're replacing a piece of old furniture, donate it to one of the charities we work with. (I'll do some searching tomorrow and give you web links to those charities that have a web presence.) If you can't do that, Ronald McDonald house has a long wish list of goods; ask us for that list, and give what you can.

In exchange for your generosity, we'll take:

$50 off a fabric recliner
$75 off a leather recliner
$100 off a sofa
$200 off a sectional

We're also taking 20% off of select accessories when you by some upholstery. Ask me about a given piece, and we'll see if it applies. (Just about all of the accessories in this store are going to qualify, but you never know.)

I love having sales like this that provide some benefit for people outside of our store. I like getting people into good furniture, but it's even better when someone who needs help gets it as a side benefit of what I do - especially in this economy.

Weekend Sale!

Big weekend sale!

We've knocked down the prices on every chair and recliner. More importantly, if you get a postcard from us in the mail this week, bring it in - we'll take the sales tax off of the price as well. (If you're reading this, odds are very high you should have that postcard coming in the mail; if you didn't get one by the time you come in, e-mail me and we'll take care of it.) Show up early - and I do mean early - on Thursday, and we'll be handing out door prizes - $10 gift cards from Target! (Best Door Prize Ever from us.) Give us a call or e-mail me to set up an appointment. If you've had your eye on something, this is a prime time to get it.

10% off this weekend!

We're taking 10% off of the prices here in the store this weekend; that doesn't apply to advertised items in the Plain Dealer or clearance items, but any other price in the store is fair game. I'll be calling around to say "hello" and ask you to come in and take a look around. Now would be a great time to look at the catalogues we link to on the right-hand sideand see if there's something you'd like for us to show you. Thanks!

Share the Comfort

We're running a sale with a cause until March 23rd in conjunction with Ronald McDonald House Charities. I've got some great sales posted on the floor on various chairs; in particular, we're donating $5.00 to RMHC for every Rialto, Harvey, and Crandall chair that we sell. The Crandall's a particulary good buy right now; I've got it in two microfibers for $599, $300 off the ticketed price. (Yes, that's the chair this blog is named after - it's my favorite.) And of course, we'd be very happy if you'd stop buy and donate to RMHC when you come by the store. Stop on by and see what's on sale, or e-mail me if you've got your eye on something. I'll schedule a time for you to come in and try it out.

And just in case I need to sweeten the story for you a bit, we're running a contest. Click here and you can win $20,000 in free furniture. Thanks.

Welcome!

Good morning! Grab a cup of coffee and pull up a comfy chair; we've got lots to choose from.

If you're reading this, you probably bought a piece of furniture from me at our store in Middleburg Heights - maybe that terrific Pembroke Sofa in green that's been flying out of the warehouse, or one those high-leg leather chairs that I'm so fond of. If so, thank you. There's no point in denying it - it's tough out there, and I sincerely appreciate your business. I know that there's cheaper furniture out there, but I firmly believe there's none better - you've picked out something for your home that's going to last a lifetime, and I'm very pleased indeed that I helped you choose that special piece that will make your home a better place. Thank you.

Feel free to browse - I put up some tools that should make picking out your next piece of furniture easier. I'll be posting occasionally when some great sales come up, a new piece enters the store, or whenever anything else tickles my fancy. Pop out the ottoman. Lean back. Relax. Get comfortable. After all, that's what we do best.
